Graduate Teaching Assistant
with a focus on
Special Educational Needs (SEN)
to join a dedicated team in one of our client schools in
Washington . In this role, you will be working closely with students who have a range of
Special Educational Needs , including those with autism, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges.Job Summary:
As a Graduate
SEN Teaching Assistant , you will provide tailored support to help students overcome their barriers to learning, enabling them to achieve their full potential. You will collaborate with classroom teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN:Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.Help manage classroom behaviour and support students in developing positive social skills.Work with the SEN team to monitor and track student progress.Support students in their academic and personal development, helping them to achieve their potential.Qualifications for a Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN:A graduate degree, preferably in education or a related field.A genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.Experience working in a school or educational setting is an advantage but not essential.Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.GSL Education
