Senior Project Manager (Client Service Manager)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands-on management of exciting water industry projects through all phases of delivery.Specifically, responsibilities will include a variety of projects related to:Water infrastructure planning, design, implementation, and optimizationWater distribution, pumping, and storageSewer collection, pumping, and storageWater resources planning and developmentConveyance, pumping, and storageSurface water supplyGroundwater supplyChallenged and/or reuse supplyWater facilities planning, design, implementation, and optimizationDrinking water treatment plantsAdvanced water treatment plantsResponsibilities will vary in relative volume, and change over time, but will generally include:
Business planning and development activitiesClient service managementScope, fee, and contract development servicesOversee production of deliverables, including:Complete detailed design calculations, drawings, and specificationsScheduling, management and coordination of support disciplines and subconsultantsSupport permitting approval with regulatory agenciesManage quality assurance and risk managementFacilitate workshops with clientsTransition to construction phase (both alternative delivery and design-bid-build)Contractor pre-qualification and bid evaluationParticipate in facilitated teaming activitiesTechnical review of submittals and RFIsProgress tracking and communicationsTransition to integration phaseManage owner training programEquipment, instrument, and device checkout and performance validationControl system and HMI integrationContract closeoutTravel will be required on an as-needed basis for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties to maintain your designated service area. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity for professional and career development while attending industry conferences as a subject matter expert on behalf of Garver and the Water Business Line.Qualified candidates must be capable of performing the following routine functions:Display technical competency of water or wastewater engineeringDevelop and manage detailed project delivery assumption, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man-hour estimatesManage and delegate scope, budget, and schedule for a team of multi-disciplined project engineers, design engineers, and CAD Technicians in the development of various Water Business Line projectsManage and delegate multiple projects concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and work product qualityKeep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projectsConduct written and oral project reporting for clients and Team Leader. Reporting will include project design status, upcoming milestones, project accounting and billing, percent completes, progress reports, etc.Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansLead internal and external project workshopsBe an active learner responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as overall needs of the teamConstruction management, excluding construction observation, for local projectsMaster’s degree in civil, chemical, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program10+ years of similar technical experience with no less than 3+ years’ experience in project or team leadershipRegistered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado or the ability to obtain within a yearPrevious experience in responsible charge of planning, design, and implementation of water facilities and infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of the multi-disciplined practices required for the planning, design, and implementation of water facilities and infrastructure projectsProficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and OutlookPreferred Teambuilding Skills
