The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for a Research Scientist Principal. Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include highway design, project management, pavement design and maintenance, infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis, construction management, highway and infrastructure safety, structural engineering and preservation, intelligent transportation systems, economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation, traffic operations, and environmental analysis. Prospective applicants should have at least 3-5 years of research experience in one or more of these areas.The Research Scientist Principal occupies the role of technical specialist within KTC and is responsible for study design and the development and application of unique methodologies. The Research Scientist Principal supervises research scientists and technicians, and oversees multiple projects. They should have demonstrated experience preparing research reports, grant proposals, and materials that facilitate technology transfer. They are expected to represent KTC and build lasting partnerships with our clients, transportation organizations, and agencies.KTC is a vibrant, dynamic, and collegial environment where salary and benefits packages are competitive with the private sector.
