Overview of the Purchasing role:

  • Purchase materials, parts, and supplies in a cost effective and timely manner that ensures proper inventory levels
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product and service information, including price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Review orders, status of materials, and coordinate shipments with vendors daily
  • Identify potential supply issues and their impact to production and customer orders, escalating to appropriate levels of management, when necessary

Preferred Qualifications for the Purchasing position:

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors
