Overview of the Purchasing role:
- Purchase materials, parts, and supplies in a cost effective and timely manner that ensures proper inventory levels
- Confer with vendors to obtain product and service information, including price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Review orders, status of materials, and coordinate shipments with vendors daily
- Identify potential supply issues and their impact to production and customer orders, escalating to appropriate levels of management, when necessary
Preferred Qualifications for the Purchasing position:
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors
