Profiles will include location, number of beds, patient rations, and other unique details to assist recruiting professional in effectively and efficiently identifying highly qualified staff. Facility Department/Cost Center: CC 6 8700 Role: Part-Time Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care/ Step-Down / Critical Care Level 2 / Med-Surg Number of Openings: 1 This position will care for admitted patients holding in the ED for admission to our inpatient step-down and Med-Surg units. Job Requirements Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Years of Experience: 2 years Must Have Skills/Experience: BLS/ACLS, IV Medicated gtts, Tracheostomy experience, Ventilator, bipap, cpcp, high flow oxygen delivery devices, Unit performs their own phlebotomy and IV sticks Preferred Skillset/Experience: NIHSS cert recommended, ICU/Critical Care experience recommended Schedule Information Shift: 2–12-hour shifts, must be available to work any day between Sunday – Saturday. No specific set days - Day Shift 0700-1930 Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours Bi-weekly Weekend Hours: Every other weekend. If an agency nurse calls in absent on their scheduled weekend to work, the missed weekend will need to be worked the next weekend to fulfill the requirement. Holiday rotation throughout the year. Call Requirements: No standing “on call” requirement. Rarely may be placed on call or floated if low patient volume. Unit Specific Information Unit Details: Number of Beds: 8-10 Beds assigned to admitted patients holding in ED for either Step-Down or MS units Patient Ratios: 1:4 – 1:5 Depending on Acuity Equipment: EMR: Epic Type of Patients on Unit: Personality Fit - This position will care for admitted patients holding in the ED for admission to our inpatient step-down and Med-Surg units. There will be 8-10 beds dedicated for this. Ratio will range from 1:4 to 1:5. Additional Details Personality Fit: Ability to care for chronic trach/vend dependent patients, neuro-surgical patients, noncomplicated back surgeries, VP shunts, and stable subdural hematoma patients. Other patient populations include post-drips, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal and behavioral/substance abuse patients. Renal dialysis patients, emergent situations requiring assisting with intubations of unstable patients (which will move to a higher level of care. Other unit procedures include chest tube placement, IV insertion, blood transfusions, and bedside bronchoscopy. This is a team oriented unit with a healthy work environment.
