Unit: MedSurg A3 (formerly C5) of beds: 32 beds. Ortho, Surgical, Oncology Charge Nurse: Yes, does not take patients. Also has Unit Supervisor. Nurse Aides: PCTs on days. 1 PCT or Task RN at night. Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Must call Physician. IV Team: No. House SWAT Nurse available for hard IV sticks. RT 24/7: Yes Pharmacy 24/7: Yes, ICU Pharmacist covers on days. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 80% Surgical, 20% Oncology. Ortho - JHACO certified knee and hip program. 8-10 elective knee/hips per week. Other - Urological, Abdominal, Whipple, Women's surgeries (no OBGyn). Additional Notes: Spectralink phones (call light attached to phone); first to float, could float to sister facility, Mercy Gilbert Schedule Information Shifts: 12 hrs. 7-7. Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week period (days - Sat, Sun, nights - Fri, Sat). One major and minor holiday. Unit Specific Information beds: 32 beds.
