Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,627 per week

Certification Details Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Job Details A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Med Surg/Tele RN for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience. Job Requirements Must hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and a CA License. Need 2 supervisor references (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years worked. Schedule Information Shifts: 12-hour shifts starting at 0645 and 1845. Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW). Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed. Unit Specific Information beds: 37 Ratios: 1:5 for Tele and, on occasion, for the BH patients EMR: Cerner Charge Nurse: The traveler would not be expected to be in charge of the unit. Nurse Aides: Yes, ratio 1:19 Drips: Yes, limited cardiac drips Vents: No Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Hospitalists IV Team: Yes but focuses on PICC placement RT 24/7: Yes Pharmacy 24/7: Yes Floating: Yes Floor specific orientation: Yes, somewhat limited 2-3 shifts Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Medical-Surgical and Behavioral Health;12hr Nights, EOW, First to Float Additional Details Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital. The manager has 24 hours to rescind the offer, if necessary. The DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE within 48 hours. It’s pass or fail and they get two attempts. Unit: Med Acute 4N Nurse's Read Strips?: Done by Monitor Tech but RN expected to be able to recognize rhythms and act accordingly.
