The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and CA License.ALL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE CERNER EXPERIENCE.No first time travelers and no duos!Schedule Information
Shifts/Hours: 12's; 7a - 7:30p/7p - 7:30aBreaks: 1/2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law)Weekends: Every other weekend or equivalent of 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule (Example: could be 2 in a row, then off 2 in a row)Unit Specific Information
Unit: ICU and ICU-CV RecoveryCertifications/Certs: ACLS & NIHSS are required.EMR System: Cerner requiredBackup as secretary: 24/7 monitor techs on this unit also help out as secretary, etc.USD in the patient rooms for direct care and monitoringCharge Nurse: Exists but rarely takes patientsOrientation includes working in both East and West towers for floating purposesMedications administered include all cardiac & vasoactive drips, conscious sedationVents maintained by Respiratory Therapy. RT 24/7 and Pharmacy 24/7 available. Dedicated pharmacist on the unit during weekdays.Variety of patients include those with respiratory failure, sepsis, AMI, ARDS, GI bleed, etc.Additional Details
Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation.Nurses must participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
