Job Details Job Location South - Fitchburg, WI Description Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for the technical and analytical accounting functions to evaluate financial information and reports that encompass all aspects of the general ledger. All duties are performed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, and in compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations. The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by accurately recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in a timely manner. They provide reliable and relevant actual, budget and forecast information to assist management decision making and tax planning. They respond to queries and requests timely from internal and external parties. This position is employed solely by Dental Health Associates (DHA). However, the following responsibilities include DHA and all related entities. E ssential Functions and Responsibilities Confidentiality Handle patient records and employee issues confidentially, following HIPAA guidelines. Maintain highest standard of confidentiality of corporate records. Availability/Dependability Punctual, observe prescribed work break/meal periods. Attend work in the office regularly as scheduled. Obtain appropriate substitute coverage for planned absences. Adherence to Policy Follow all company guidelines. Treasury Management Uploads positive pay and manages ACH/positive pay exceptions. Initiates bank transfers and ACH payments to related parties and shareholders. Completes bank reconciliations monthly. Operational and Capital Budgets and Forecasts Prepare annual budgets based on historic data and expected changes to the business environment. Annual budgets are to be completed prior to the beginning of the budget year. Periodically update budgets to create forecasts based on year-to-date actual results and revised expected changes to the business environment. Analyze actual results versus budget on a monthly basis and explains variances. General Ledger Prepare and post general ledger entries. Develop and maintain allocations of revenues and expenses for the purpose of calculating profit or loss for individual dental practices. Perform regular subsidiary reconciliations to general ledger balances. Fixed Assets Monitor capital acquisitions and projects through interaction with project leaders and accounts payable. Maintain paper and electronic records of capital assets. Create and maintain depreciation schedules in compliance with tax regulations. Payroll Support Backup payroll accountant. Audits periodic changes to compensation and benefit deductions submitted for biweekly payroll. Coordinate payroll withholding elections for owners with assistance from tax accountants. Coordinates 401k withholding and remittance to plan provider. Reporting Complete profit allocation calculations for owners quarterly. Calculate quarterly bonuses per employment contracts. Lead the Month-end close process. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support the A/P, payroll, and other accounting functions, as necessary. Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance. Education BS in Accounting. Experience Five or more years of accounting experience. Three or more years of public accounting experience preferred. Certificate/License CPA preferred. Knowledge and Skills Proficiency using accounting software. Proficiency using a payroll processing and electronic timesheet system (Paycom preferred). Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (excellent Excel skills preferred). Strong attention to detail and accuracy, problem solving ability, excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently, organize and set priorities, and meet critical deadlines. Positive, can-do attitude that works well with a team. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with people of various backgrounds and education. Demonstration of organizational skills and creativity. Persistence in seeing projects, tasks, and daily work through to completion. Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment Location This role is located in Fitchburg, WI, and requires physical presence in the office during working hours.
