High-volume Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) located in the heart of downtown Lexington on the campus of the University of KentuckySpecialties/lines of service: Pediatric orthopedics (primarily fractures, scoliosis, club foot, hip abnormalities, and alignment issues), PM&R, upper extremity/hand, pediatric rheumatology, pediatric prosthetics (limb clinic)EHR: EpicTeam: 7 physician assistants and nurse practitionersAffiliation with the University of Kentucky health systemJob Overview

Shriners Children's is actively searching for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Lexington. This provider will work with a variety of pediatric patients (15-20 patients a day on average) in the clinic of a busy ambulatory surgical center. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with no weekends, nights, or call.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, treat, and educate patients presenting with disabilities, injuries, and diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system under the direction of the supervising physician as delineated by KY state lawOrder and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays and labsCollaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient careMaintain accurate and detailed medical recordsAssist care managers in patient triage and management of phone inquiriesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetingsQualifications

Master of Science in Nursing or higher requiredValid KY APRN licenseANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (or equivalent) certification as a PNP or FNP requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred.Proficiency in casting and splinting preferredProficient computer skills with experience in Epic EHR preferredOpen to new graduates, but experience in managing pediatric or orthopedic patients in a clinic setting is preferredTeaching and training skills, and demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate direct patient care is required
