Job Details:
Our esteemed organization is seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented Controller with a strong background in the construction industry. As a key member of our executive team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our financial future by using your strategic planning skills, comprehensive financial knowledge, and keen business acumen. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you can truly make a difference. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities, including budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all company accounts and investments.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of financial professionals.
- Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
- Produce the company’s financial reports and interpret financial information while recommending further courses of action.
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization, including systems implementation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Drive the company’s financial planning and performance by analyzing its performance and risks.
- Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA or CMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proven experience with month-end/year-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Automated Financial and Accounting Reporting Systems.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
