We are currently seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing team.

Job Description:

The Family Law Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, property division, and other domestic relations cases. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and possess at least 3 years of experience in family law. Trial experience or prior clerkship is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and property division
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Provide counsel to clients and develop case strategies
• Negotiate settlements and collaborate with opposing counsel
• Manage client relationships with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication
• Stay current on developments in family law and Virginia-specific legislation

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Must be admitted to practice law in Virginia
• Minimum of 3 years of family law experience, with an emphasis on litigation
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proven ability to handle a high volume of cases and work independently
• Trial experience or prior clerkship experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with complex family law cases, including high-net-worth divorces, contested custody battles, and prenuptial agreements
• Familiarity with Virginia family law procedures and local court rules
• Mediation and negotiation experience
