Job DetailsJob Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a permanent position within our Manufacturing department. As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and protocols that ensure a safe and healthy work environment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of safety regulations and standards, particularly in the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging safety issues and regulations.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with management and staff to implement safety measures and promote a culture of safety.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and other relevant safety standards.
- Participate in project management activities, ensuring safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Prepare and present safety reports and statistical data to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (COHS), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proven experience with ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and other safety standards and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
- Experience in conducting industrial plant safety audits and inspections.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and positive attitude towards safety.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
