Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a permanent position within our Manufacturing department. As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and protocols that ensure a safe and healthy work environment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of safety regulations and standards, particularly in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  3. Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  4. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging safety issues and regulations.
  5. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  6. Collaborate with management and staff to implement safety measures and promote a culture of safety.
  7. Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and other relevant safety standards.
  8. Participate in project management activities, ensuring safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution.
  9. Prepare and present safety reports and statistical data to management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in the automotive sector.
  3. Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (COHS), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent is highly desirable.
  4. Proven experience with ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, and other safety standards and regulations.
  5. Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
  6. Experience in conducting industrial plant safety audits and inspections.
  7. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
  9. Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and positive attitude towards safety.
  11. Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
