Customer and Enterprise Solutions (C&ES) is devoted to serving PG&E’s mission of delivering safe, reliable, and affordable customer-focused electric and gas service. As PG&E’s customer-facing organization, we support Electric Operations, Gas Operations, and Energy Supply. We aim to define and drive the enterprise-wide customer strategy while encouraging a culture of safety, affordability, and employee engagement. Local Customer Engagement (LCE) coordinates the activities of customer-facing coworkers in the Customer & Enterprise Solutions organization. LCE is accountable for delivering high-quality performance to PG&E’s customers and ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of regional operations for our hometowns.Position Summary

Solutions Engineer, Expert reports to the Director, Customer Outage Journey PMO. The position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams in Electric Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing & Communications, & IT (Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, Cloud Center of Excellence, & Product & Enterprise Platform Applications) to improve outage communication experience with customers by leveraging modern technology. The successful candidate will drive design, development, deployment and monitoring of outage communication solutions. As part of our customer engagement team, the position is responsible for developing solutions for timely, accurate and consistent communication of outage information to customers. The candidate will help drive overall improvements in the customer experience, be focused on Lean best practices and continuous improvement with the goal of achieving Customer Transaction Survey (CTS) targets.This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.Salary Range:

Bay Area Minimum: $129,000.00Bay Area Maximum: $207,000.00ORCalifornia Minimum: $123,000.00California Maximum: $197,000.00Job Responsibilities:

Build outage communication applications that help timely, accurate and consistent communication of outage informationLead and mentor the development team in a hands-on wayOversee software quality and system modificationsProvide technical feasibility assessment while collaborating with partner teams to guide new feature developmentDefine and address application non-functional requirementsProvide subject matter expertise on data engineering and data analytics platformsWorking with developers and the IT department to improve development, testing and deployment processesPerform / guide Data analysis, generate reports and present findings to aid decision-makingSpearheads data engineering initiatives targeting moderately to complex data and analytics challenges, delivering impactful outcomes through comprehensive analysis and problem-solving.Design and implement application monitoring and notification strategy for timely detection and rectification of application issuesCollaborate with cyber security, Enterprise Architecture, Data and Analytics etc. to design, implement and support outage communication applications that are scalable, secure and highly availableSupport leadership in development of strategic and tactical plans for improving CTS scoresFollow an agile development methodologyQualifications

Minimum:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experienceExperience in IT-Information Technology engineering design, 8 years

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years of experience in IT engineering design and/or technical project implementation

OR

Experience in IT-Information Technology project implementation, 8 yearsDesired:Total 10 + years of experience with 5 plus years of experience in data engineering/ETL ecosystems with Palantir Foundry, Python, PySpark and Java.3+ years of hands-on experience working with Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) etc.Expert in the solution architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practicesOperational support for applications, systems, or infrastructureExperience providing direction to design and engineering staffDemonstrated solid understanding of architecture best practices and enterprise-scale solution developmentPossess diversified technical background with Enterprise System Solution mindsetAble to provide individual or project oversight on rapid prototyping/POC efforts and large-scale enterprise wide roll out planningExperience working with technology and business partners to develop secure and scalable solutionsExperience working as an Agile/Technical Lead in an Agile environmentExperience with developing solutions for data-driven applicationsExperience with Utility domain is a plusDemonstrated proficiency in achieving results by leading and influencing matrixed teamsSnowflake platform knowledge is a plusExcellent communication and collaboration skills and a strong work ethicVery strong analytical and problem-solving skills
