Description
Manhattan Youth is seeking certified Lifeguards to join our aquatics team at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the safety and well-being of patrons in the pool facility. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.This is a part-time position. Our pool is open:Monday-Friday 8:30am-9:00pmSaturday and Sunday 8:30am-5:00pmHours/shifts within these times are flexible.
Preference will be given to candidates with evening and/or weekend availability.Pay:
Starting at $18-20 per hour, depending upon experience. Lifeguards with swim instructor experience or experience working directly with children in camp or after-school settings may be eligible for $20-22/hr+.
Responsibilities
Greet all members to the facility and create a warm, welcoming family environment.Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules and regulations.Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around aquatics facility.Assist children in our after-school programs.Wear proper uniform and be alert and ready to respond at all times.Perform other related job duties as required.
Qualifications
Certified Lifeguard (Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certifications, or equivalent as recognized by the NYC-DOH).CPR/AED certification, renewed within last 12 months.Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture.Swim instructor experience or experience working with children is a plus.Weekend availability is a plus.
