is seeking an
Entry-Level Environmental Engineer I
to be based in our Sacramento, CA office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin January/February 2023.Job Overview:The Entry-Level Environmental Engineer will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation. The Sacramento, CA office supports project teams throughout the US and is known to be one of our centers of engineering excellence for AECOM. Our teams work on complex remediation projects, pulling the right resources from across the company to support project needs. Together, these opportunities will aid in your growth in this industry.Responsibilities:The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:Site visits at military bases, industrial, and municipal clientsData collection and analysis for environmental compliance, sustainability, and stormwater projectsEnvironmental Sampling (e.g., stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste)Development of technical memoranda and reportsPreparation of environmental reporting formsLocal travel is likely and U.S travel possible and project dependentBuilds analytic and design skillsConducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineerCreates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineerCollects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineerUses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problemsPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervisionQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering disciplineDue to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is requiredValid U.S. Driver's LicensePreferred Qualifications:General knowledge of basic engineering and environmental sciencesProficiency in standard office suite software applicationsOSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER CertificationAbility to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employeesAbility to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise mannerAbility to learn through on-the-job experienceTolerance for work in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditionsAbility to work independently, both in an office environment and in the fieldAbility to travel locally, including occasional extended travelAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this position. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel is required for this position. Candidates may be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening, drug test, and/or medical surveillance screening upon hire.
