Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstThe Supervisor, Medical Coding works with Coding team to extract clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT) to patient records. The Supervisor, Medical Coding works within thorough, prescribed guidelines and procedures; uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors to solve basic problems; collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach.The Supervisor, Medical Coding confirms appropriate diagnosis related group (DRG) assignments.Job FunctionsAnalyzes, enters and manipulates database.Leads a team of Medical Coding Professional 1Responds to or clarifies internal requests for medical information.Decisions are typically related to schedule, plans and daily operations.Performs escalated or more complex work of a similar nature and supervises a group of typically support and technical associates; coordinates and provides day-to-day oversight to associates.Ensures consistency in execution across team. Holds team members accountable for following established policies.Monitor coding staff workload and redistribute resources as needed to meet market operational demands.Use your skills to make an impactRequired QualificationsExperience leading direct reportsA minimum of 4 years related experienceMust have one of the following Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC (Certified Professional Coder)Must be able to complete the Certified Professional Biller within one year of hireExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak and interpret medical terminology and coding terms in EnglishPreferred Qualifications3 plus years of Supervisory experienceAcute in-patient and/or outpatient coding experienceMust be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiencesBachelor's DegreeReside in the state of FloridaCoder Audit experienceAbility to work in a rapidly changing, matrixed environment.Has a positive, collaborative mindset to foster partnership within and the Coding, Audit, and Education department, the PCO, and HumanaAdditional Information:Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 to 5:00Location: This is a hybrid home position where employees primarily work from their home office, occasionally using company and or affiliate office space for collaboration and face-to-face needs in the South Florida area.Scheduled Weekly Hours40Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$63,400 - $87,400 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
