Strategic Sourcing Lead

Description:

Our client has an immediate need for a Strategic Sourcing Lead, who is responsible for managing the corporation's strategic sourcing process and leads process direction, oversight, and methods for company contracts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, supply chain management, or business-related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
• Experience with offshore and outsourcing
• Experience representing and buying technology/software services
• Outstanding liaison background across a large corporation's business units
• Excellent management, meeting, and facilitation skills in presenting an enterprise to its suppliers
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
• Contract Drafting/Management Skills
• Experience with Ariba Buyer/Professional is a plus
• Project/Vendor Management experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Manages and executes best-in-class sourcing strategies including identification of sourcing projects, conducting risk management/due diligence, leveraging electronic tools and technology, regularly participating in and/or leading price negotiations, contract preparation and execution, and providing information and influence to facilitate award decisions
• Responsible for understanding details and general market knowledge of assigned commodity products and services
• Responsible for sales, marketing, and change management efforts across all levels of the organization. Provides value-added consultation and recommends process reengineering and efficiencies where applicable
• Interfaces with all levels of management and frequently serves as a liaison between external providers and internal business partners for moderate to complex situations/projects and decisions that may have a significant impact
• Directs workflow, assigning work responsibilities, and providing assistance and technical guidance to both business partners and Sourcing leaders
• Responsible for increasing shareholder value through significant dollar savings impact and limiting risk and liability exposure through appropriate contract development
• Researches and negotiates major organizational contracts and procurements
• Prepares complex purchasing assignments requiring vendor selection and pricing comparisons
• Consults with vendors to obtain optimum pricing and availability information. Researches and negotiates highly complex organizational purchases
• Negotiates with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc
• Develops and monitors the effectiveness of purchasing strategies and effectiveness; initiates improvements as necessary
