Position summary:The Production Operator will be responsible for keeping the print shop running smoothly, operating a wide variety of digital and large format print equipment, maintaining digital production equipment, and providing essential communication to team members and clients.Position responsibilities:Reviewing job tickets and managing assigned workflow to ensure all orders are completed on time.Maintain and maximize machine efficiency.Understand and run all maintenance routines for the equipment.Prepare files for print production: Experience with Fiery and Onyx software will be an advantage.Understand the finishing process of printed materials including running bindery equipment.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Provide excellent customer service to customers and fellow employees.Maintain the highest possible quality of work product.Other duties as assignedMinimum Position Requirements:Experience working with digital printers, wide format devices and bindery equipmentMust be able to prepare and troubleshoot PDF documents and make minor editsMust have a basic understanding of color managementMust have a basic understanding of graphics and image file formats.Experience with digital cut sheet press and wide format.Must be able to work a flexible scheduleMust be able to work with large size mediaMust be a problem solver: someone who is not afraid to ask questions and help find solutions to optimize our everyday tasks.Must be able to stand for eight hours and lift up to 100lbsSupervisory Responsibilities: 0 Full-Time Direct Reports 0 Part-Time Direct ReportsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Work is normally performed in a production work environment.Physical effort required; the employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds.Exposure to physical risk.Safety:Provide resources for safe operation of units.
