Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consulting Hospital Medical Collections professional to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of outstanding debts from patients and insurance companies. You will be the key person responsible for reducing the amount of unpaid debts and maximizing revenue for the hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who has a deep understanding of the medical industry, specifically in Medi-Cal Managed Care, and who is looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the entire collections process, including the development and implementation of strategies to increase the number of successful collections.
2. Conduct thorough investigations to uncover unpaid debts and negotiate with patients and insurance companies to arrange for the payment.
3. Collaborate with the billing department to ensure that all bills are dispatched on time and follow up with patients and insurance companies to ensure timely payment.
4. Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and regularly report on collection efforts, successes, and areas needing improvement.
5. Handle any escalated patient or insurance company disputes and resolve them in a timely and professional manner.
6. Ensure all collections activities are conducted in compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.
7. Continually stay updated on the latest industry trends, changes in regulations, and best practices in medical collections and use this knowledge to improve processes and strategies.

Contract for 20+Weeks

Monday-Friday 8a-5p schedule!

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital medical collections, with a specific focus on Medi-Cal Managed Care.
3. Proven track record of successful collections and a deep understanding of medical billing and collections processes.
4. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
5. Strong knowledge of state and federal laws related to debt collections and medical billing.
6. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and use it to make informed decisions.
8. Proficiency in using medical billing software and other related IT systems.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
11. Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, and to take initiative in improving processes and strategies.
