A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bankruptcy Partner with over eight years of experience, specializing in business bankruptcy and restructuring. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead high-level bankruptcy cases, work with a dynamic legal team, and play a pivotal role in complex restructuring transactions. The firm provides a collaborative environment with comprehensive benefits, including a 401(k) plan, health and dental insurance, gym membership support, and disability coverage.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage significant business bankruptcy and restructuring cases from initiation to resolution.Offer strategic legal counsel to clients, including corporations, creditors, and stakeholders, to navigate complex bankruptcy and insolvency situations.Develop tailored restructuring solutions for financially distressed businesses, including Chapter 11 filings, debt workouts, and creditor negotiations.Collaborate with financial advisors, turnaround experts, and other professionals to execute business recovery strategies.Oversee bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, fraudulent transfer actions, and preference claims.Negotiate, draft, and review complex legal documents, including reorganization plans, debt restructuring agreements, and bankruptcy filings.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys, fostering their professional development within the practice area.Maintain and grow client relationships, leveraging legal expertise to attract new business opportunities.Stay up to date with changes in bankruptcy laws, regulations, and best practices, and ensure compliance with applicable rules.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 8 years of legal experience with a primary focus on business bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters.Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex bankruptcy cases and restructuring transactions.Strong understanding of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, creditor negotiations, and insolvency law.Proven ability to handle bankruptcy-related litigation, including adversary proceedings and appeals.Significant experience representing debtors, creditors, or trustees in large-scale bankruptcy cases.Prior leadership or partnership experience within a law firm is highly desirable.Educational Background:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.Certifications:Board certification in Business Bankruptcy Law (preferred but not required).Continuing Legal Education (CLE) in bankruptcy law and related areas is a plus.Skills and Abilities:Exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively in high-stakes bankruptcy litigation and restructuring negotiations.Advanced legal research and writing abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior attorneys.Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills, with a client-centered approach and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and business partners.Proactive problem-solving mindset, with the ability to devise creative legal strategies for business restructuring.This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced attorney with a passion for business bankruptcy and restructuring to take the next step in their career with a forward-thinking law firm.
