Primary purpose:
As a member of the Executive Team reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) spearheads the growth strategy for the organization by developing and executing our sales, marketing, and account-management activities. The CGO collaborates closely with the leadership team to optimize growth and client-success strategies. The CGO also oversees Lantana’s marketing and proposal-management teams, and ensures right-sized resourcing and processes with a vision for scaling those functions to meet anticipated growth targets. This position requires a hands-on, self-motivated, experienced individual with established relationships with clients and partners working at or with Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies, preferably the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
A successful candidate will do the following in these categories:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute growth strategies aligned with the company’s vision and goals. Keep abreast of relevant industry trends, applying those to the strategy as appropriate, and maintain and build relationships to support future pursuits.
Business Development, Marketing, and Account Management: Lead the business-development, marketing, and account-management functions to drive new business and expand our client base.
Collaboration: Partner with leadership team to optimize growth strategies and ensure seamless execution.
Communication and Reporting: Regularly communicate progress on the business-development pipeline, monitor key metrics, and craft compelling presentations for the leadership team and Board.
Results-Driven Approach: In partnership with the leadership team, drive tangible results including diversifying sources of revenue, expanding strategic partnerships, and growing year-over-year revenue to meet goals.
Process and Team Development: Establish or mature right-sized processes for business development, marketing, proposal development, and account management that consider practical limitations based on size of the organization, with a plan for scaling as the organization grows.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
15+ years’ experience leading the business-development function for a primarily government-contracting organization.
Extensive existing relationships with both clients and strategic partners working at or with CDC, CMS, or other HHS agencies.
Proven record of building successful strategies to generate year-over-year growth for an organization.
Experience building sustainable-growth strategies for an organization rapidly outgrowing the small-business designation.
10+ years’ experience working within the healthcare industry, preferably working as a government contractor supporting HHS agencies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and people-management skills.
Willingness to dig into the weeds to solve problems, with a path to build capacity over time in-team.
Strong understanding of healthcare-industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics.
Knowledge of federal contracting regulations that may affect business-development strategy.
