A client of Insight Global is looking for a Back- End Cloud Architect.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of serverless architectures, including AWS Lambda and Kafka, and experience with Apache Tomcat. This role will focus on building robust cloud applications capable of handling offline services and data-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and implementation of serverless architectures using AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda, to build scalable and cost-effective solutions.Utilize Apache Kafka for stream processing and to enable real-time data feeds, ensuring effective message handling and communication between distributed services.Develop and maintain serverless applications that can operate seamlessly in both online and offline environments.Create and manage APIs to facilitate communication between services and ensure efficient data access and manipulation.Configure and maintain applications running on Apache Tomcat, ensuring smooth integration with serverless components and data streams.Monitor application performance and implement optimizations as necessary to improve reliability and responsiveness.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, data engineers, and DevOps, to ensure cohesive application design and deployment.Document architecture designs, API specifications, and technical processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in back-end development and cloud architecture, with a strong focus on serverless solutions in AWS environments.Proficiency in AWS Lambda and experience with services such as API Gateway, DynamoDB, and AWS S3. Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven architecture is a plus.Strong programming skills in languages commonly used in serverless applications (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java).Experience deploying and managing applications on Apache Tomcat in conjunction with serverless frameworks.Deep understanding of cloud best practices, microservices architecture, and serverless application design patterns.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a cloud environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Familiarity with offline-first design principles and strategies for handling data synchronization between online and offline states.Experience with CI/CD practices and tools for serverless architectures.AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional) is highly preferred.
