job summary:A rapidly growing Equipment Manufacturer in the Hudson Valley, Ulster County area is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager to their team. This is a newly created role working closely with the Controller and will be responsible to help oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing Accounts Payable / Receivable, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the company's financial goals. This role will be onsite!

responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Manage the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.Internal Controls:

Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.Month-End Close:

Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.Reporting:

Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and other financial metrics. Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.Manage Accounts Payable Process:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department, including invoice processing, payment disbursement, and vendor management.Manage Accounts Receivable Process:

Oversee the full cycle of accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and account reconciliation.Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights..Leadership:

Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
