We are also known as Acute Rehab, ARU or Inpatient Rehab.
Rehabilitation nursing offers a gratifying career for nurses who want to use all of their clinical skills, make a visible difference in their patients’ lives, and work as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
We provide comprehensive collaborative care to all adult and adult geriatric patients with neurological and other medical conditions of resent onset or regression and who have experienced loss of functions in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, or communication.
Frequent diagnoses: CVA, brain injury, spinal injury, amputation, hip fracture, joint replacement, and other neurological syndromes.We’re a Little Different

Overview:
Assists in planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the operations and patient care of designated areas. Serves as clinical resource for staff and patients in the department. Functions as a staff nurse in the department as needed. Assumes administrative duties as delegated by manager. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
PRN Requirements:Note: if you already hold a part-time or full-time role with Mercy the requirement may not be the same, lets discussMust work 36 hours in a 6-week period1/3 shifts have to be a weekend shiftHoliday Requirement: 1 winter and 1 summer holiday
Qualifications:Education
:
Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
Licensure
:
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Physical requirements/demands
:
Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Certifications
:Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
One more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
