Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for land acquisition in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify potential land acquisition opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, demand, and potential areas for development.
  • Analyze market conditions and property values.
  • Assess the suitability of potential land for development.
  • Conduct due diligence on selected sites, including zoning and environmental considerations.
  • With the input of a financial analyst prepare financial analyses and feasibility studies for potential land acquisitions.
  • With the input of a financial analyst evaluate return on investment and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Negotiate land purchase agreements with property owners and stakeholders.
  • Structure deals to optimize terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land acquisition.
  • Communicate with property owners, sellers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Address concerns, negotiate terms, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with development teams, architects, and engineers to ensure the feasibility of projects.
  • Coordinate the acquisition process with various departments.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with land acquisitions.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • With the assistance of local/in-house counsel, prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to land acquisition.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or related roles.
  • Previous experience managing land acquisition projects.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and ability to conduct feasibility studies.
  • Familiarity with real estate investment metrics.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to structure favorable deals.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to land acquisition and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Project management skills to oversee land acquisition projects.
  • Understanding of legal processes and documentation related to real estate transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and project requirements.
