TScan Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech seeking to revolutionize life-changing therapeutics for patients by identifying novel T cells and epitopes. We are looking for an energetic and versatile attorney to join our growing legal team as Director, Legal Counsel. A successful candidate will possess broad experience relevant to the biotechnology industry and demonstrate a practical, business-oriented approach to legal matters. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will assist on a range of legal matters across the organization, with an opportunity to expand into other related functional areas.This position will be based in Waltham, MA, with flexibility regarding onsite/offsite work schedules.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting with drafting and negotiating a broad range of agreements, including license agreements, manufacturing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.Collaborating with R&D, BD, CMC, and other functions on various corporate and IP matters.Assisting with strategic transactions, including collaborations and public offerings.Assisting with managing worldwide IP portfolio, including identifying patentable inventions with internal partners and engaging with outside counsel to draft, file, and prosecute patent applications.Assisting with the legal team’s administration processes, including contract and patent management systems and post-execution internal client support.Collaborating across TScan to ensure effective legal support to all business functions.REQUIREMENTS:
J.D. from nationally accredited law school; member in good standing of the Massachusetts bar.3-5+ years of meaningful legal experience involving intellectual property, corporate transactions, licensing, general contracts, or other similar matters.Experience in an in-house intellectual property or corporate legal department within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry preferred; law firm experience preferred.Prior experience with securities laws and regulations and corporate governance matters a plus.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and perform at a high caliber in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated, able to work independently, and strong attention to detail.Highly accountable for the results and outcomes of their responsibilities and understands the impact of their efforts and attitudes on others and the Company.Excellent verbal and written skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely.Uses teamwork to work cooperatively toward the most effective solutions, championing the best ideas of team members.Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues.About TScan:TScan Therapeutics is a fully integrated, next-generation TCR-T cell therapy company.
