GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Directly responsible for directing the financial activities of the organization, working in conjunction with the President & CEO. This includes strategic financial planning, management of financial risks, financial record-keeping, statistical reports for management and/or Board, audit activities, and financial reporting. The CFO oversees the financial health of the organization, ensuring financial stability.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Effectively and efficiently operates the financials and accounting for Habitat LA including coordination, organization, and implementation of standardized and generally accepted accounting principles and policies.
Organizes and maintains a variety of financial records, forms, and files. Develops and maintains a records retention program.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers.
Working with the President and CEO, establish policies and procedures that will accurately record all financial transactions of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and its operations.
Enforce internal controls that will ensure the safeguarding of company assets.
Directs, supervises, and assists with accounting procedures carried out by any volunteers and/or employees who perform accounting functions with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.
Accurately reports Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’s financial condition, operates profit/loss, and changes in financial condition in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as they relate to accounting, taxes, and any other matters under the Chief Financial Officer’s direct supervision.
Oversees completion of external audits as directed by the President/CEO or required by our funders.
Performs any other reasonable function as directed by the President/CEO.
SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial management role.
Significant experience in financial planning, financial analysis, accounting, and budgeting.
Adaptability to changing priorities and business needs.
Strong work ethic and dedication to accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an executive-level finance position.
B.A. in Accounting or Finance.
Must have access to reliable internet connection.
Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA driver’s license and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check, and a credit check.

COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is $190,000 - $225,000. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
