Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions and/or meet the physical demands.As a Director of Sales, you will be responsible for executing sales strategies to maximize hotel profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction, and meeting or exceeding planned revenue objectives for occupancy and average daily rate (ADR). You will directly supervise associates in the Sales department and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Your specific duties in this role will include:Develop new strategies and uncover new business to generate sales.Identify, qualify and solicit new business to achieve hotel revenue goals.Ensure the best opportunities are closed for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.Approve business opportunities.Upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue for the hotel.Ensure a timely response to incoming group sales leads.Maintain an understanding of the overall market(s), including competitors' strengths/weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.Increase overall hotel occupancy by adhering to group ceilings and restrictions on the group calendars.Manage and develop relationships with key customers; ensure VIP acknowledgment while on property.Work with VP of SMR, General Manager, and Revenue Management to ensure proper pricing, appropriate transient and group mix, and implementation of sales strategy.Ensure effective resolution of guest issues that arise, bringing issues to the attention of the property leadership team as appropriate; respond as needed.Act as liaison between the hotel and customer throughout the event sales process.Create event information and manage communication to successfully carry out events.Ensure the collection of payments from customers and assist with any issues that arise.Ensure the accommodation of clients' special needs.Assist with the development of the hotel’s marketing and sales plan based on the hotel's position and strengths within each market segment.Represent the company at various community organization meetings to promote hotels.Use property event surveys to analyze, identify, and implement opportunities for improved customer service.Prepare internal and external correspondence, i.e., contracts, proposals, group resumes, event orders, and rooming lists as needed.Maintain current and accurate filing system; maintain accurate records of sales activities.Perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining department budget, processing department payroll, and handling any accounting and purchasing functions.Answer all incoming phone calls in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner using the appropriate greeting.Job RequirementsWe are looking for a self-motivated Director of Sales with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Specific qualifications for the role include:Three to five years related experience; Bachelor's degree (B.
