HR Specialist - 32 hour work week with benefits!

Summary:

The HR Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's human resources functions. This position will work closely with senior leadership to ensure efficient and compliant HR practices. Key responsibilities include payroll processing, benefits administration, personnel records management, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and generate relevant reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws.
  • Recruit for new hires and conduct screening, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain personnel files and monitor training requirements.
  • Administer human resource plans and assist in developing policies and procedures.
  • Communicate HR updates and changes to leadership.
  • Administer benefit plans and communicate information to employees.
  • Maintain job descriptions and grant databases.
  • Develop a comprehensive training program for leadership, coordinators, and staff.
  • Support program directors with supervision tools and employee relations.
  • Attend and participate in senior leadership and all-staff meetings.
  • Participate in the organization's safety committee.
  • Attend relevant HR trainings to stay informed on law changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR experience, including employee relations experience
  • Payroll processing experience
  • HRIS experience - Paychex experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must complete organization required training within 30 days of employment.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to drive for agency business.
