Quality Engineer

Summary:

Develops, publishes & implements test plans for applications. Writes & maintains test procedures. Publishes test results. Develops QA standards. Defines & tracks QA metrics. A person who is able to fill in as the Quality Manager in his absence by directing work flow in an efficient manner. Responsible for oversight of all commercial and military asset records. Defines, develops and implements QA practices & procedures, test plans & other QA assessments. Reviews and approves MRO planning.

Essential Functions:Perform visual and dimensional inspections of receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection and finished components, subassemblies, products and engines; Perform source inspection;Provide input for inspection methods and improvements related to the job; Provide samples and communication to QA and Production Management concerning quality issues as required;Assist quality and engineering in investigations of process related quality issues; Issues CAR's and NCMR's as appropriate;Provide samples and communication to QA and Production Management concerning quality issues when required; Works directly with appropriate personnel to understand project concepts, objectives and approach to projects;Write Non Conforming Materials Reports when required and be familiar with the process of quarantining products that have been rejected by QA; Manages root cause analysis;Completes accurate records in order to provide excellent results and continuous improvements; Conduct AS9110 internal audits; Perform First Article inspections;Develop or improve standard work to support both customer and supplier inspections including quotes, understanding customer expectations and results reporting;Work with equipment users, engineers and other technicians in the proper operation and selection of test and measurement equipment; Drives continuous improvement & lean manufacturing;Develops testing procedures, designs tooling, reviews and develops tooling requirements for inspection; Perform supplier approval assessments;Any additional tasks assigned by management in support of the position or companies needs.Be compliant with safety procedures and policiesEducation/Experience:

High School diploma or GED; certification in precision inspection, GD&T and other related disciplines helpful.5 years related experience and be able to possess a Repairman's Certificate.Ability to mentor and direct the work of others; Microsoft Office and strong computer skills; strong work ethic; positive attitude; detail oriented; good mathematical skills (including geometry); familiar with ISO or AS9110 Quality Systems; auditor training and certification; familiar with FAA regulations; strong communications skills; work well in teams; good at time management and decision making.

Salary Range: $66,560 to $93,600
