Certification Details Required Certifications: BLS, PALS Job Details A hospital in Southern Idaho is in need of PICU RN's to work a 13 week travel assignment. Job Requirements MUST have 2 years of PICU experience. Ok with first time travelers. Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: propofol, fentanyl, epi, etc. Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: No Pediatrician in house 24/7: In house during the day, may occasionally take call from home at NOC. RT Equipment: Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? Vent, bubble CPAP, BiPAP. Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Yes, RNs read and interpret their own strips. Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7, Work with the scheduler to schedule, will allow up to 5 shifts in a block schedule if meets unit needs. Weekend Requirement: 5 shifts in 6 weeks. Holiday Requirement: potentially- expect to work at least 1 during a contract. Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No Floating Requirements: Peds for full assignment, frequent floating. Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 2-12 hour shifts. Unit Specific Information - Unit: Intensive Care Unit Pediatric Boise Hospital Flr 4 - of Beds: 12 (in summer census is around 4, and winter months 6). - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Trach/vent, DKA, respiratory, surgical (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs, seizures) no cardiac. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: MUST have 2 years of PICU experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: propofol, fentanyl, epi, etc. - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift?
