The Unit RN performs services requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and skill for carrying out the nursing regimen in support of medical care, based upon the principles of the biological, physiological, behavioral, and social sciences.EducationGraduate of an accredited school of nursing.Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.ExperienceGerontological nursing and knowledge of supervision techniques preferred.Able to read, write, and speak the English language.Demonstrate competence as a nursing practitioner.BLS certificationUnit Licensed Practical NurseThe salary range for Unit LPN is Min: $28.71 Max: $42.66Job SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse performs services requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment and skill for carrying out selected aspects of the designated nursing regiment under the direction of a RN.

EducationCurrent LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.ExperienceGerontological nursing and knowledge of supervision techniques preferred.Able to read, write, and speak the English language.Demonstrate competence as a nursing practitioner.BLS certificationAbout the Post Acute UnitThe goal of the Post Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is to provide supportive, goal-directed care following surgery and/or hospitalization. Specially-designed treatment programs provide patients with the preparation, support and education that enables them to return home as quickly as possible. Our goal is to help patients reach their highest possible level of independence. A partial list of conditions we work with includes strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic care, respiratory conditions, and cardiac and post-trauma situationsRoutine Therapy services are provided Monday through Friday. We also have the capability of providing therapy six days a week if that is what is required to maximize positive results. Nursing staff provide the necessary extension of therapies when therapy staff are not present to provide direct service. This may include walking, exercises and supervision of other activities set up by the therapy staff.
