We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Development to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee all aspects of our construction projects, from initial planning to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, feasibility analysis, and project development. They will also have a proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing large-scale construction projects. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

As the Permanent Director of Development, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Overseeing all stages of project development from conception to completion. Prior LIHTC experience is STRONGLY preferred.
  2. Direct and take accountability for the complete development process, including seeking and analyzing new development and partnership opportunities, feasibility analysis, financing applications, financial underwriting and closing, due diligence, contract solicitation and negotiations, permitting and entitlements, and lease-up coordination.
  3. Must be a team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships and rapport with local governments, vendors, industry professionals and your peers throughout the organization.
  4. Developing and implementing project strategies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  5. Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
  6. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
  7. Identifying and mitigating potential risks or issues that could impact project success.
  8. Providing regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress and performance.
  9. Continually evaluating and improving processes and systems to increase efficiency and productivity.
  10. Participating in industry events and networking opportunities to stay abreast of market trends and developments.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Director of Development position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
  2. Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and motivating teams.
  3. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  5. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  6. Problem-solving mindset with a strong focus on risk management.
  7. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  8. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are highly desirable.
