Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year

We are a mission driven non-profit focused in Real Estate and Development. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from home and the opportunity to occasionally work on-site. The Accounting Manager will be a key player in our finance department, responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our accounting team. This includes managing all aspects of accounting; from financial statement preparation and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial reporting and a proven track record in managing a team to meet deadlines.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support budget and forecasting activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial accounting role.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform account reconciliation.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
