JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for providing human resources support for the company, which includes assisting in recruiting for vacant positions, conducting general employee orientations, assist in maintaining all personnel records and files, assist in conducting employee benefits and retirement program enrollment meetings, responding to insurance and unemployment compensation correspondence, employment verifications and assist in organizing all employee activities and in-services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree or a minimum of two (2) years experience in hospital business office and/or human resources, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to work occasional flexible hours as requested.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide human resources support to the company by managing all personnel issues within corporate policies and procedures and all federal and state guidelines.

Assist in preparing personnel-related documents for regulatory agency visits and surveys.

Assist in the recruitment of all vacancies, including interviewing, job placement, and conducting orientation.

Prepare personnel files and maintain personnel records in accordance to facility and corporate personnel policies and guidelines.

Conduct criminal and background checks for all new hires.

Assist new employees with completion of their personnel packets.

Audit personnel files, ensuring all information is current and accurate.

Conduct employee benefit orientation, open enrollment meetings, and enroll employees in health insurance and retirement plans when eligible.

Coordinate with the Human Resources Manager and prepare requested reports for senior management as requested.

Validate licenses of all new employees through the appropriate licensing board.

Obtain appropriate paperwork for employee benefit authorizations, and input all personnel information for new hires and all status changes for current employees.

Assist facility management regarding employee relations issues, counseling and termination procedures as required.

Report all personnel problem issues to the General Counsel and other senior management.

Assist in the maintenance of accurate position descriptions for all positions employed at the facility and consult with the General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy COO on all changes or new position descriptions needed.

Assist in mailing termination paperwork (COBRA packages) to all discharged employees via certified mail.

Complete all employment verifications for current and terminated employees.

Participate in special projects as assigned by the General Counsel or other senior management.

Assist in organizing special employee events, employee activities and human resources related in-service trainings.

Adhere to facility, department, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.

Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.

Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.

Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Distribute and collect hospital keys, badges and parking tags.

Grade and input Employee Orientation/Training examinations.
