Detail Duties

For the duration of this detail, the Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO) will report to the Executive Officer (EO), NIMH.The Acting Chief Information Officer will:Serve as the Acting Chief of the Information Technology Branch including direct supervisory responsibilities for the five sections chiefs of the Information Technology Branch who oversee various service contractors and a total of 14 additional federal staff.Serve as the principal advisor and technical consultant to the IC Director and senior staff on the Institute’s IT infrastructure and functionsOversee the design and implementation of IT strategic plans and services essential to the direction and operation of the ICServe as a principal advisor on the IC’s IT needs for extramural and intramural users, including Internet access, utilization, licensing, security, and website developmentOversee research, design, plan, and implementation of information systems architecture to meet emerging requirementsServe as a technical expert on LANs and systems integrationOversee systems development and enhancement, as well as hardware and software acquisition management activities for the ICOversee and manage hardware and software selection, design, development, testing, implementation, installation, maintenance, and evaluationServe as the principal advisor on advanced networking technologies to incorporate high levels of fault tolerance to ensure maximum reliabilityServes as the principal advisor on the use of a variety of cybersecurity mechanisms to safeguard user dataServe as principal advisor on new IT regulations and policiesServe as the principal advisor on ITB contractors, oversee the development of contract proposals, and project plans for new or enhanced IT systems and applications, and evaluate contract performanceOversee the Information Technology budget processOversee projects that have significant impact on the delivery of customer support services.How to Apply
