Job Details:

We are seeking a seasoned Estimator to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play an integral role in our company's ongoing success by providing accurate cost estimates that drive the strategic and financial decisions of our projects. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about construction, possesses a strong analytical mindset, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Permanent Estimator will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, contributing to the growth and success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing proposed plans and specifications.
  2. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Participate in the proposal preparation, bid submission, and contract negotiation processes.
  4. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  5. Perform material take-offs (MTO) from architectural and engineering drawings.
  6. Conduct risk and opportunity assessments to support project bidding.
  7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and goals.
  8. Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as required.
  9. Monitor and adjust estimates to reflect changes in market trends, data, and project specifications.
  10. Use past project data and industry standards to improve estimation accuracy.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  3. Exceptional knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  4. Proficient in construction estimating software and blueprint reading.
  5. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  6. Excellent skills in project bidding, cost analysis, and budgeting.
  7. Proven experience in subcontracting and material take-off (MTO).
  8. Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  10. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
