Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry that is looking to hire a Fabricator/Welder! This position is CTH after 4 months and 1st shift. This is a great opportunity to join a stable small company going through a growth spurt right now and succession planning happening, this person will have an amazing opportunity to join some exciting changes with no red tape interfering with personal/company goals!
Responsibilities:
As a Fabricator, this person will be fabricating the steel components togethers to make the final custom scissor and dock. The lifts are powered by hydraulics so if someone has exposure to that, great but this individual will cross trained to learn every part of production, so this is where long term growth opportunities come into play. There is going to be a fractional amount of machining involved with a vertical mill and using grinders, but it will be 95% MIG welding & 5% TIG welding. Ideally this person will come from a custom. Engineered to order environment because each lift will require different fabrication processes and types of welds.
Qualifications:
Must have’s:
2-3 years of fabrication of experience – Fabrication includes welding, cutting, assembly, grinding etc. so it’s the overall process of building the equipment so let’s dig into this.
MIG welding experience of steel – they will be doing Butt Joint weld and T joint welds
Proficient in reading & interpreting blueprints – also should know how to read a tape measure but this should be a gimme if they can read prints.
Comfortable operating an overhead crane/ Forklift. If they are certified, great but they at least need to have experience on these.
Experience using fixtures – fixtures are what hold specific assemblies (the pieces of steel) in the right place for the weld to be done correctly.
*Preferred if someone comes from a custom fabrication environment since each product will require different assembly processes and welds.
