Director Indirect Sourcing

Purpose
This position is responsible for the development of a strategic sourcing plan and end to end sourcing of indirect products and services essential for our internal operations for the assigned categories. In addition, the individual will be responsible for leading all phases of sourcing that require the skills necessary to identify high quality suppliers, cost saving opportunities, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate, generate contracts to assure seamless availability of all products and services to support category strategies. This includes the ability and experience to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the spending, supplying partnerships and new possibilities for the category. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the development of financial processes to highlight, report and account for savings achieved by the Indirect Sourcing organization. This includes developing financial reporting processes to support our short and long term plans. This role will work collaboratively with internal business clients as well as the supply base. The role will have direct reports and be responsible for the development of those resources while creating and implementing processes to inspire and motivate those associates. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Indirect Sourcing.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, finance or business administration and at least five (5) years purchasing/strategic sourcing experience along with 3+ years relevant supply chain experience
Strongly prefer candidate with IT, Real Estate/Construction and Financial Services sourcing experience
Experience with using 6 step sourcing process when executing sourcing projects
Experience in leading and working in cross-functional teams across different business functions
Ability to interact credibly with technical & business function professionals as well as senior executives through the CIO, CFO and CEO level
Highly motivated and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy and demanding team-oriented environment
Six Sigma Green belt or Lean methodology advantageous
Thorough “hands-on” and working knowledge of P2P, eSourcing, SRM, Spend Analytics and Contract Management modules
Demonstrated excellent written communications, negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable with managing large data and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting the data
Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria) of objectives
Knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts
Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
Experience leading a team of direct reports to achieve identified objectives
Prefer candidate with CPSM certificate and must participate and/or collaborate with Professional Associations in Purchasing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing management goals for the assigned categories and implement action items to ensure that those goals are achieved
Develop and execute category management strategies using internal business requirements and market intelligence data to determine strategy that best meets the needs of the business
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans that maximize the competitive environment looking at market dynamics and supply base activity while using the most effective tactics such as reverse auctions to accomplish objectives
Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
Develop and implement sourcing and supplier selection strategy domestically and internationally
Implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with legal and cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
Responsible for negotiations for best possible cost service guarantee and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities
Identify purchasing policies that support guided buying and ensures compliance across the enterprise
Develop risk management and SRM programs for the Indirect Sourcing Team
Perform TCO analysis to clearly understand cost as it relates to determining category management strategies and making sourcing decisions that impact the business and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
Working Conditions (travel, environment)
Occasional travel required including air and car travel
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet.
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
