Senior Director Indirect Sourcing

This position is responsible for providing spend analytics, category management and strategic sourcing for Floor and Decor’s (“F&D”) indirect categories of spend including but not limited to spend necessary to support store operations and professional services for corporate functions. In addition, the position will provide strategic sourcing methodologies, best practices, processes, and tools where needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Sourcing

Be the expert in influencing, leading, and driving project implementation of sourcing strategies and the development of goals for the assigned category.

Develop, implement, communicate and support the sourcing strategy and infrastructure of the assigned category and location.

Assess, mitigate and manage material supply risk.

Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned category and location.

Cultivate and govern supplier relationships relevant to business needs and business situations.

Spend Analytics

Provide detailed spend analyses and profiles of all major categories of spend to determine where opportunities exist to reduce costs and establish contracts with more favorable terms to F&D.

Develop commodity strategies that align with commercial initiatives and sourcing agreements for applicable material commodities and spend categories.

Provide focus on value creation by managing cost for indirect spend through supplier performance.

Category Management

The results of the spend analytics work provides a profile of spend that will enable the identification of key categories of spend. These categories can then be studied to capture market dynamics, identification of the supplier base and cost associated with the operations of these categories. This information coupled with the requirements of F&D for these categories will facilitate the development of strategy to approach and manage the categories or supply markets from a strategic sourcing perspective.

Strategic Sourcing

Provide the platform for developing and executing strategic sourcing plans to improve quality, reduce cost, improve delivery of service and create a sustainable supplier management process by utilizing several different methods to arrive at those results. This includes but is not limited to the following:

RFP

Reverse Auctions

Targeted Negotiations

Competitive Collaborations

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Consortium or Third Party entity

Establish strategic sourcing goals based on product and organizational strategies.

Identify and execute opportunities to improve supplier performance, reduce cost while maintaining quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Sourcing Projects:

Champions and implements process improvements initiatives based on sourcing and organizational needs.

Partner with the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain in developing sourcing strategies and priorities.

Research, analyze and interpret findings of overseas and domestic supplier marketing and trade activities.

Other

Partner with business leaders and functional leaders on assigned projects as determined necessary.

Follow, communicate and serve as a role model for company policies, procedures and F&D Organizational Goals.

Can achieve results through teamwork, working collaboratively with others to accomplish individual and department goals.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Understanding of International logistics.

Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Business, Purchasing, or related field).

5-10 years of global purchasing, supplier compliance, commodity management and contract management experience required (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education).

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the company, as well as globally with suppliers.

Demonstrated experience assessing manufacturing capabilities, negotiating and executing supply contracts and service agreements.

Possess strong negotiation skills and a high level of diplomacy with the ability to influence effectively.

Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently, within a team across all levels and diverse cultures.

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

Limited travel required including air and car travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTSSedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
