Job Details:

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for finance? We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial information that drives strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the experience in a non-profit environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, and performing general bookkeeping.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and reports, including the monthly and annual accounts.
• Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to management.
• Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
• Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for Executive Director, Development and Board of Directors.
• Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
• Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms.
• Work closely with the executive director and board treasurer to prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis on potential investments, and advise on investment activities and strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• 1+ year accounting experience for a non-profit
• QuickBooks experience
• Proficiency in Grant or equivalent software
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
