Now hiring a Zamboni Driver at the Elmhurst YMCA! The Elmhurst YMCA has an outdoor ice rink open weather permitting for free skate, lessons and hockey. The Zamboni Driver keeps our ice in excellent condition and promotes a positive environment for children, parents and staff.Pay starts at $16.20 per hourOur staff is the Y's greatest asset. Scope of Responsibilities:Operate a Zamboni machine to resurface the ice rink as needed.Operate the edger machine to think ice as needed.Staff the skate counter and distribute rental skates and ice hockey equipment.Supervise the ice rink lobby.Teach ice skating skills and follow the progressive skills program.Maintain attendance and skill accomplishment records.Maintain surveillance of students and know their whereabouts at all times.Report accidents or injuries and complete accident reports as required.Attend meetings necessary to improve communications between students and staff.Monitor participants skate fit quality and function.Be available to assist fitting of equipment.Perform other duties as assigned.Follows all driver guidelines and standards.Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver's license.Experience working with children is a plus.

- Supports the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by:Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisorFollowing all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of childrenReporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisorCompleting all child abuse prevention training as required
