Lufkin is seeking a Crane Operator I for their Pleasanton, TX location who will be responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads providing support to the Field Supervisor/ Manager related to all areas of operation and repairing of Oilfield Pumping Unit equipment. The Crane Operator I will provide the safe operation of the crane by performing crane setup, pre-trip inspection, rigging, and crane operation on location, as well as helping to drive process improvements to help management and operations make tactical and strategic decisions.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution.Work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required.Comfortable working at heights with proper fall protection.Carry various pieces of the pumping unit of substantial weight.Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activitiesBe in the field environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as requiredLift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.Be subjected to extreme heat and cold for extended periods of time.Must have a clean driving record.Responsibilities
Operate a 50-ton to large cranes in a safe and effective manner.Inspect, clean, and perform operator level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standards.Closely interact with crew members on job tasks and safety accountability.Provide leadership and mentoring to crew members.Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.Follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.Complete necessary documentation, and reporting.Lead the JSA process with active participation from crew members.Responsible for ensuring all proper documentation is completed and submitted according to company protocol. Documentation includes but it not limited to: JSAs, Journey Management, Work Orders, Inspection Checklists, etc.Communication
Open communication is key to being a strong crew lead. Responsible for keeping yourself open to communication with your crew members, supervisor, safety representative and customer.Mediate disputes within the crew. Find resolution through communication between crew members or requesting a supervisor's involvement, if necessary.Equipment
All assigned equipment should be maintained with a high level of reliability. Equipment includes but is not limited to fleet vehicles, tools, and personal protective equipment.While you are not held liable for other employee's assigned equipment, you are asked to maintain policies and standards through holding your crew member(s) accountable.Mentoring
Support and train your crew member(s) to maintain high safe, quality work standards while producing with efficiency.When new policies and/or procedures are introduced, you will be asked to convey the changes accurately. If questions arise from the changes, you are responsible for getting the right people involved for clarification.Responsible for evaluating new crew member on team. Oversee the initiation of that individual to your crew and workflow. Ensure that the new crew member/SSE is demonstrating safe work practices and is compliant with all and customer safety standards. Feedback will be requested regarding new crew member's progress.Leaders will assist in developing less experienced crew members.Participate in annual Performance Review process. Provide objective feedback on employees that have worked with you during the previous year. Feedback will need to be factual and fair. Prior to the release of reviews, you will attend a mandatory evaluation training every two years.Essential Characteristics
