Job Title: Rehabilitation & Return to Sport, Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist

Department: Baseball Operations

Reports To: Coordinator, Rehabilitation & Return to Sport

Status: Full TimePrimary Objective:

The Seattle Mariners are hiring a Physical Therapist (PT/DPT), or Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) for the Peoria Sports Complex. This position is part of the High Performance Department and will report to the Coordinator of Rehabilitation & Return to Play. Daily interaction and collaboration with Athletes, Rehab & RTP staff, Athletic Training staff, Strength and Conditioning staff, Field Staff, and Front Office members is expected. Responsibilities include providing injury rehabilitative care to Mariners athletes at the Peoria complex both in-season and throughout the off-season. This is a full-time position that is based in Peoria, Arizona.

Essential Functions:Provide Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Services to athletic injuries - both operatively and non-operatively.Create and implement rehabilitation and return to play progressions (i.e., throwing, hitting, running) based on the players' injury and position.Understand and follow surgical and non-surgical protocols provided by leading physicians, and the organization's expectations.Collaborate with Rehab & RTP, Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, Mental Health, and Player Development staff to implement rehabilitation plans and organizational initiatives.Develop and maintain a schedule specific to athletes within rehab both in-season and throughout the off-season.Communicate on prognosis and progression of athletes to Coordinator of Rehab and RTP through written and verbal communication.Ensure consistency of instruction from medical and performance team in exercise deliveryEnsure accurate and thorough record keeping and documentation within the MLB Medical System (AHMS)Attend doctor appointments, surgical consults, surgeries, and follow-up appointment when needed.Education and Experience:

Current licenses and certifications - ATC or PT/DPT required, CSCS or equivalent preferredPrevious high level collegiate or professional sports experience preferredMust be eligible for all federal and/or state licenses required to practiceSpanish proficiency preferredCompetencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

Maximum lifting of up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting of weights up to 50 pounds; typically standing and walking for the majority of the dayPosition will require non-traditional work schedule including evenings and weekendsPosition may require travelPosition is based out of Peoria, Arizona
