Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y‑12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant located in Amarillo, Texas.Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!ResponsibilitiesThis a full-time support position to the Documents & Records Management organization, specifically the Records Management department. The position works alongside CNS Records Operations Staff in preparing and processing records for conversion to an electronic format. Some overtime may be approved to meet target deadlines.Specific job functions may include the following:Searching, locating, retrieving, and delivering records or information through established procedures and delivery systems in a timely manner; verify completeness/thoroughness of the records in accordance with established policies and procedures; and perform assigned tasks supporting the implementation of the organization's approved retention schedule.Complieswith records security classification policy and procedures.Protects records by monitoring environmental controls and following established procedures to control access.Communicates and interacts with customers to provide effective customer service.Prepares documents for imaging.Operates imaging and microfilm equipment to create quality-level document images and stores electronic images in approved electronic information systems.Good oral communication and interpersonal skills to work closely and cooperatively with groups in shared tasks that may have tight deadlines.Attention to detail. Work independently and with minimal supervision.Due to the nature of tasks to be performed, an active Q-clearance is required, demonstrated experience in working with records, and general understanding of federal records management requirements.Ability to comprehend and understand site/organizational procedures that relate to project documents and records to ensure requirements are met.QualificationsHigh school diploma: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. Typical administrative experience ranging from 7–10 years.Active DOE Q clearance required.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy and would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.Pre-employment Drug Screen - external applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post- offer, pre-employment drug test.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in establishing and successfully managing paper-based or electronic records systems, including a working knowledge of technical and nontechnical documentation standards.Excellent skills in the use of MS-Outlook, Internet, word processing, and document conversion is desirable. Experience in utilizing specialized computing applications for managing configuration control of documents and other records is highly desirable.
