Overview

The Information Technology Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the integration, maintenance, and support of technology infrastructure and services within the school. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including managing computer systems, networks, software applications, and digital resources to support teaching, learning, and administrative functions. The technology manager collaborates with school administrators, faculty, students, and other IT personnel to ensure that technology resources are effectively utilized to enhance education and achieve institutional goals.

Job ResponsibilitiesManage the deployment of iPads to students and faculty, including setting up and configuring devices according to school standards and policies.Oversee the installation, updates, and maintenance of educational software applications on iPads, ensuring compatibility and functionality.Implement and maintain security measures on iPads, including device encryption, user authentication, and data backup protocols.Maintain accurate records of iPad inventory, including tracking devices issued to students and staff, and managing repairs and replacements as needed.Manage and maintain the school's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, wireless systems, and telecommunications equipment. Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of technology systems to support teaching, learning, and administrative functions.Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to faculty, staff, and students regarding computer hardware, software applications, and peripherals. Install, configure, and maintain computers, tablets, printers, and other technology devices as needed.Manage digital learning resources, including educational software applications, multimedia content, and online databases.Oversee the management, protection, and privacy of student and staff data. Implement security measures, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical information.Assist in developing technology plans and budgets for the high school, including recommending hardware and software purchases, infrastructure upgrades, and technology initiatives. Monitor expenditures and manage resources efficiently to maximize return on investment.Develop and enforce technology-related policies, procedures, and guidelines for acceptable use, internet safety, data privacy, and cybersecurity. Ensure that students and staff adhere to established policies and regulations.Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, and contractors to procure equipment, software licenses, and support services. Negotiate contracts, review service agreements, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality and value.Serve as a member of the school's technology committee or advisory board, collaborating with stakeholders to assess needs, prioritize initiatives, and make recommendations for technology integration and improvement.Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and IT personnel to identify opportunities for leveraging iPad technology to support educational goals. Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding updates, initiatives, and best practices.Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in educational technology, particularly as they relate to iPad usage in schools. Conduct research and evaluation of new apps, tools, and resources to assess their suitability for educational use.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or related field.Prior experience managing iPad technology in an educational setting preferred.Strong technical skills, including proficiency with iOS devices, mobile device management (MDM) systems, and educational software applications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Knowledge of educational pedagogy and instructional practices, with the ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning activities.Familiarity with security and privacy considerations related to educational technology, including data protection laws and regulations.Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of educational technology.
