We are a dynamic mid-size public accounting firm, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant. This permanent role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of clients and a team of experienced professionals to provide top-notch accounting services. You will have the chance to use your expertise in tax preparation and planning, financial reporting, account analysis, and more to make a significant impact on our clients' financial success.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns including 1040 individual, HNW Tax, ccorp, scorp, estates, partnership, trust, and other entities.
- Conducting thorough account analysis and making adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet and cash flow reports.
- Providing strategic tax planning and compliance advice to clients.
- Assisting in IRS and state tax audits.
- Mentoring and supervising junior staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Staying updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a strong focus on tax.
- Proficient in preparing and reviewing 1040 individual, HNW Tax, ccorp, scorp, estates, partnership, trust, and other entity returns.
- Experience with account analysis and adjusting journal entries.
- Extensive knowledge in preparing and reviewing balance sheet and cash flow reports.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA certification is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and consulting.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
- Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
