Job Summary
The Lifeguard position is responsible for ensuring pool safety by enforcing facility rules, being alert and focused on pool users, recognizing emergency situations, and providing life saving measures in case of emergency. This position also requires pool pH and chlorine testing & usage tracking daily. The goal of this position is to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for our students and members. Our facility is open 6am-9pm with lifeguard positions available in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
Essential FunctionsInteracts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.Attentively scan & monitor the pool and sauna area while members are presentKnow and enforce all pool and facility rulesProvide water rescues, appropriate life saving measures and general first aid assistance in emergency situationsComplete daily usage tracking sheet, temperature, pH, and chlorine testing & tracking sheets consistentlyComplete pool opening and/or closing dutiesProvide a safe, clean, welcoming environment to all students and membersAssure that the pool & pool area meet safety evaluation standards and safety auditsMaintain a good working relation with staff members, Maintenance personal, administrative personal, and pool patronsQualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or GED
AND
Experience:
1-3 years lifeguard experienceFamiliarity with the pool chemical testing processMinimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
Accredited Lifeguard certificationCPR/AED/First Aid certificationAdditional Information
