Job Summary

The Technology Transfer Manager is a key member of Jefferson's Technology Transfer Office responsible for advancing physical science and information technology assets from intake to assessment through to securing intellectual property rights including supporting the launch and growth of spinout companies. This person will work with Jefferson inventors to encourage and facilitate the submission of new technology disclosures. Manages databases and records related to invention disclosures, patent applications, and legal correspondence

Essential FunctionsInteracts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.Support TTO initiatives linked to invention commercialization, patent disclosure, tracking & assessment, and innovation licensing.Manage database of invention disclosures, patent applications, legal correspondence, and agreements.Develop and implementing standard operating procedures for key office functions and database management.Resolve internal system conflicts and identifies/corrects errors in historic records.Investigate third-party report conflicts and material use situations.Assist in the evaluation of invention disclosures submitted by Jefferson clinicians, faculty, and staff.Identify potential matches between Jefferson technologies and unmet needs in industry.Support and participate in social media and assist website manager for TTO to ensure timely and efficient use of resources, and to support key initiatives.Interact with colleagues, visitors, and staff in accordance with organizational values.Support the TTO by assisting in maintaining supplies and ensuring smooth office operations.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

Must be well organized, and detail-oriented, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.Fiscal management and budgeting experience.Strong ability to work independently and as a team member.Ability to multi-task and serve multiple constituents, balancing needs and prioritizing appropriately.Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business or other affiliated fieldAND

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of professional technology transfer office experience strongly preferred or other professional experience in paralegal, licensing or contracting.
